RISD Musem VR Exhibition
The goal of this group project "Painting Gallery" was to use augmented reality to bring the RISD Museum to the public.
Using the laser scanning model built in REVIT, we placed a "portal" between the real world and the interior of the RISD MUSEUM. Users simply had to walk through the portal to enter and experience the space using iPad or iPhone.
The project ‘Lovecraft’s Story’ leads you to rediscover historical architectures of Providence and the story of the well-known local writer. H. P. Lovecraft is the father of modern horror, which made Providence a holy land for horror fiction fans.
By scanning the cover of his famous book—the shunned house, a basic introduction video of H.P.Lovecraft will give the audience a rough understanding of his reputation and work. By answering a simple question about this video, we can start our journey to his story.
By scanning the marker of each location—the number plate of most typical sites, people can go to these sites again and listen to the stories about them. You can also see what the site was like in the past by touching the “back” button. To make the process more interactive, we asked a few questions about these stories which they’ve heard from the audio and people should answer the right answer to find the address of next stop.
